GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Registration
With your registration via the website or a fully completed registration form received by our course administration, you declare that you have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions as described below. Registration forms are personal and therefore can only be completed by one person and relate to that person. Upon registration, you have taken note of our privacy regulations regarding the protection of personal data. Incomplete or illegible registration forms will not be processed.

2. Payment
With your registration you commit yourself to paying the full course fee. Volksuniversiteit Breda only uses iDEAL banking for website payments. With a signed registration form, Volksuniversiteit Breda uses a once-only authorisation granted by you. Cash payment is only possible if you hand in your registration at the office and pay immediately. Please note that it is not possible to pay by debit card at the office! Payment in installments is possible with a course fee of € 150,- or more. The second installment must be paid no later than 6 weeks after the start of the course. You can indicate this on the registration form. Payment by iDEAL is not possible.

3. BredaPas discount 
You can use your BredaPas for a maximum amount of 75 euro per year. BredaPas discounts are only granted after presentation of the completed form from the municipality. You can find this form and information about the BredaPas through the link: https://www.breda.nl/bredapas

4. Admission to courses
Registration takes place in order of entry. Registration does not guarantee placement or continuation of a course. Based on proof of registration (by email or if you do not have email: by post) you will be admitted to the course. New students, who register for a language course at the first level can register immediately. For all higher levels there will be an intake interview by a teacher. You mail us your personal details, time and telephone number(s) where you can be reached and for which language you would like an intake interview. We will send your details to the relevant language teacher, who will then contact you. Together you will decide which course is most suitable for you. The intake interview is free of charge. This procedure also applies when you want to join an already started course. Volksuniversiteit Breda can be forced to have a course or workshop given by a different teacher than mentioned in the program overview. If a lesson is cancelled due to illness of the teacher or other reasons, the cancelled lesson will be made up at the end of the course.

5. Cancellation of a course by the People's University
In case of insufficient interest, we reserve the right to cancel a course. You will receive notice (approximately 5 days before the formal start date of the course). If you have already paid, the course fee will be refunded in full as soon as possible and/or no course fee will be collected. Courses proceed when a certain minimum number of participants is registered. The number of participants necessary for a course to proceed is the responsibility of Volksuniversiteit Breda and as such is determined by the university and can be adjusted.

6. Force majeure
In case of unforeseen circumstances, the people's university is entitled to continue the course online in a digital learning environment or postpone it to another date. If students cannot attend the new date, they will receive a voucher for the number of lessons they still need to attend. The People's University does not issue refunds.

7. Full courses and waiting lists
When you register for a course that appears to be fully booked, it is possible to put you on a waiting list. If a place becomes available or we organize an extra group, we will contact you.

8. Cancellation of course participation by students
Cancellation of course participation by students must be done in writing (by email or post). Course fees can be refunded up to a maximum of two weeks before the start of the course. From 2 weeks before the start of the course no refund is possible. You then pay the full course price. In the unlikely event that you are unable to attend, your money will not be refunded but you can send someone else to attend in your place. Please contact the administration about this. 
Administration costs are always charged in case of cancellation by the course participant. Up to a course price of € 50, it is € 9, above € 21. Your payment obligation expires with the deduction of this administration fee. Absence from classes does not entitle you to a (partial) refund of course fees. No BredaPas discount applies to the administration fee.

9. Course material
The required course books and other teaching materials are not included in the course price and, unless stated otherwise, are included in the course in question. If the teacher hands out lesson materials, you pay this directly to the teacher during the lesson.

11. Vacations 
During school vacations and public holidays no lessons are given and the office is closed.

12. Prices and dates with reservation

All prices and dates published by Volksuniversiteit Breda are subject to possible errors. Dates and prices can be adjusted by Volksuniversiteit Breda at any time.

13. Culture Connection
Volksuniversiteit Breda is a member of Cultuur Connectie. The course conditions are in accordance with the national agreements made within Cultuur Connectie.

14. Liability
Volksuniversiteit Breda is not liable for damage to persons and/or property, nor for loss of personal goods, during the activities it organizes.
